Governance
The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity for
cancer care in Ireland. Charity registration number CHY5863.
The Society is governed by a Board of directors comprised
of leading medical, scientific and business persons. The Board is
also advised by two expert committees in medical and financial matters.
Cancer Research Ireland is the research division of
the Society, and it's independent Board recommends worthy proposals
for funding by the Irish Cancer Society.
Decisions made by the Board are then put into effect
by the Chief Executive officer through the various departments in
the Society (illustrated above).
